Special Group Guidelines

Role of the Society
The role of the Society will be to assist those interested in Scottish cultural activity through the following:
1. Establishing contacts between like-minded individuals,
2. Providing an executive co-ordinator to assist those members wishing to form a Special Group, and,
3. Providing financial assistance for member activities.



Special Group Requirements
Special Groups must focus on Scottish cultural activity and honourably represent the Society through the following:
1. Clearly stated objectives that are compatible with those of the Society and approved by the members of the Society,
2. All Special Group members must belong to the Society,
3. The Special Group shall choose a member as Chair and that member will act as liaison with the Society on all matters pertaining, but not limited, to that special group including budgets, requests for financial assistance, and functions, etc.,
4. Special Groups requesting financial assistance shall provide an annual budget for general membership approval,
5. Special Groups requesting financial assistance shall assist in fundraising by the Society,
6. No Special Group nor special group member may incur debt in the name of the Society, and,
7. Special Groups must select one type of group they wish to be considered as for financial assistance from: Performing or Service.
