HIGHLAND DANCE SPECIAL GROUP PROPOSAL

 

Organizational and operational special group of the Society to promote Highland Dance

 

Ø       Promote the knowledge and enjoyment of Highland Dance.

Ø       To provide a Dancer or group of Dancers for Society functions, where appropriate

Ø       Organise and operate special functions as circumstances warrant

Ø       Annual budget to be submitted for Society approval

 

Concepts:

 

Ø       to provide a supportive learning environment by way of instruction in the art of Highland Dance.

Ø       to provide a Scottish Heritage presence and representation of the Society at events when a Dancer or group of Dancers may be required

Ø       to provide a Dancer or group of Dancers for Society Functions as available and upon request

Ø       be a resource for Society members, or their friends, family, associates or acquaintances for Highland Dancing services for “non-Society” functions

Ø       Subgroup members to be available to support the Society's goals and objectives

“ARTICLE 2. Objectives

 

1.      To provide a Social venue for all persons interested in Scottish cultural activities.

2.      To cultivate and foster an appreciation for Scottish cultural performance.

3.       To facilitate the education in and performance of Scottish cultural activities.

 

“ARTICLE 4. Special Groups

 

1.       Members of the Society may assemble themselves into groups to promote or participate in special forms of Scottish culture.

2.       Special groups may use the Society name only with the approval of the membership.

3.        Members of a Special Group bearing the name of the Society shall also be members of the Society.

4.       Each Special Group shall ensure that its goals and objectives are compatible with those of the Society.

5.       Special Groups shall assist the promotion of the Society's objectives.

6.       Each Special Group shall assign a member to report on their activities at each monthly meeting.”
